Hi! I’m Jen, and I’ve been photographing everything from weddings to families for 15 years. I also spent 12 years as a nanny and 2 years as an associate teacher at a preschool and daycare. Spending my days with little ones taught me so much about their wonderful, ever-shifting personalities, the magic of their micro-expressions, and the art of capturing their true selves (even in the middle of a mood!).
This blend of photography skills and years working with kids is what makes these black and white personality portraits so special. I know it’s those fleeting, thoughtful, and mischievous expressions you want to remember—the real, everyday moments that capture who your child truly is. My goal is to create portraits that feel timeless, authentic, and full of character. I live in Shorewood, IL with my partner Jakob, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. In my free time I love to read, travel, and cook.

Our mobile studio specializes in black and white children’s portraits—and each session is designed to let your child’s individuality shine. From Chicago to surrounding Midwest areas, our personality portrait sessions give parents a chance to hold onto the quirks, dimples, and mischievous smiles that make their kids, well... them.

When you think about your child right now, what’s that little expression you want to hold onto forever? Is it the pure joy in their smile? The curiosity in their eyes? Or maybe that cheeky look when they’re deep in thought? Our black and white portrait sessions for kids focus on those little moments that are so uniquely “them.” It’s my favorite part—capturing those fleeting micro-expressions that you, as a parent, know so well.
These 15-minute sessions are $250 per child and include your choice of 10 images from the session gallery, with the option to upgrade to the full gallery.
Quick Note: Children should be able to sit unassisted, and sessions are for kids ages 10 and under.

We love our photos! From start to finish, the entire process was easy and seamless. The photos are great, my kids had fun and it was quick & affordable.
A: Sessions take place in your home, we bring the backdrop and everything we need! We generally ask for space to set up in front of a large window or sliding door with indirect light, but if natural light isn't available we can bring lighting as well!
Q: where do the sessions take place?
A: Sessions are $250 and include a 15 minute session and 10 digital images of your choice from the proofing gallery. There is an optional upgrade to purchase additional images, but not required.
Q: How much are the sessions and how long are they?
A: Sibling photos are complimentary with the purchase of 2 or more sessions, and can be selected as one of your 10 included images with each session fee.
Q: Can I do sibling photos?
A: Sure, you can add a pet session for $100 with the purchase of a regular session, which includes 3 digital images of your choice.
Q: What about pets?
A: These photos will be edited to black and white, and taken in front of a white background. I recommend thinking about patterns, contrast, differing shades of light and dark. You will typically only see the top half of the child.
Q: What should they wear?
A: No, images are delivered in black and white only.
Q: Can I get the images in color?
A: Your online proofing gallery will be ready no later than 2 weeks after your session, and will be available for 2 weeks. If you place an order that requires additional payment, such as an upgrade to the full gallery of digital images, payment is required at time of purchase.
